What is Operation Jumpstart?
- in
August of 2006 & 2007 Operation Jumpstart was conducted through the
coopertion of dozens of churches and ministries accross the County
- Hundreds
of families comprising over 2000 people enjoyed a festival together
with 300 volunteer from churches
across Washtenaw County and across barriers of denomination, ethnicity,
tradition and style
- over
2000 back packs distributed to children give then a jumpstart on the
new
school year
- hundrends
of families accessing information from nineteen agencies offering help
to
families in need
In 2009 Operation Jumpstart was conducted
on a localized basis.
- Summit International Assembly, Arena of
Faith, Way of Life Christian Center and Covenant Presbyterian Church,
along with volunteers from other churches ran an Operation Jumpstart
focused on a specific neighborhood in Ann Arbor.
- 100 backpacks were given out and everyone
had a great time at the festival and gathered round for a presentation
of the Gospel.
- hopefully, this can serve as a model for
more localized Operation Jumpstarts in the future
